Funny video showing the reaction of a monkey, when his friend gets better food.

No Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act
The internet seems to be safe again. After SOPA and PIPA and CIPA all failed, unavoidably a new bill was proposed in US. CISPA came around to stop sharing copyrighted material. Through all these bills, the US could shut down sites or access to a website. As most websites are .com this would not only have effects in the US. Sites such as Wikipedia had a "blackout" day and Mozilla encourage users to action when SOPA was still a possibility. Now as CISPA was created the internet community was not as attentive and hoped that the people responsible to make it pass would stop it before the Internet would be ruined.
Today Obama's advisor advised him to veto the bill unless significant changes were made to it. The online protests and Hacktivist (Anonymous and LulzSec) DOS attacks on several sites may have shown that the people and want a change and the Internet should be left alone.

Kopimism!
What I'v known and described as "the hacker mentality" now has an official name and religion - Kopimism.
The belief that people should be free to copy and distribute all information. I always believed this to be the hacker's belief, but now, since hacker has been turned into "a wrongful way of getting information", it is good that there is a new name out there.....but a religion?
Yes there may be several reasons for people to join this religion. I like copying and sharing. But could it be that some of the people are only joining it in order to have a stable defense if they are sued for their sharing? Claiming it would be religious persecution?
Well I guess if that works, I'm a Kopimist and proud of it!
The hypergiant star is estimated to be 265 larger than our Sun and about 8,700,000 brighter than it. These estimations and calculations were done by Paul Crowther in 2010.
Imagine how much of the univers is undiscovered by humans. As Neil deGrasse Tyson has said, looking at the universe we can see and explore and saying there is no other life form is like someone taking a cup to the beach, filling it with ocean water and stating that there is no whales in the ocean because there are non in the cup.
How far are space travels away, and have humans lost the intrest to explose their solar system because it is not yet profitable? The United States have halted their NASA explorations as a budget cut, although more money is spend on Military and so it seems to be in the rest of the world.
The video below is of the tv show: "Real time with Bill Maher", from August of 2011, with the guest : Joan Walsh, Stephen K. Bannon, Anthony Bourdain and of course Neil deGrasse Tyson.
In this show, Dr. Tyson states that the Bail out of American Banks was more money than was spent on NASA over its entire existence (50 years)
I hope that space exploration will continue in the future and that the general public will encourage it.

Google to launch Google Drive!
BradMcCartyannounced to the world that in the next week Goole Drive will be launched. This will be a plattform for storage and users are expected to be given 5GB of space from the launch. Compared to the competition, Dropbox, this is already a large step up.
TechCrunch seems to have the application already and show how easy it is to set up on a Mac.
The rumors are unconfirmed but seem realistic and let's just hope the program will come out asap.
UPDATE!! -
Google Drive will have ownership of everything uploaded to their servers and be able to reproduce and use the information.
Life may be the inevitable consequence of complex chemistry
It's long, but I don't even want to attempt summarize it, Dr. Neil DeGrasse Tyson has amazing thoughts.

Oxford University is going to digitize ancient texts and make them freely available.
Although I doubt this will be as popular as making movies and music freely available online, this will be very informative.
The Bodleian Libraries of the University of Oxford and the Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticane announced that would digitalize 1.5 million pages of their archives. These pages will be made up of three main subject areas, the Greek manuscripts, Hebrew manuscripts and early printed books. This will not only help both the libraries to have easy access to the other, but will be freely available so easy access to everyone.

Can't wait for this!
Nicholas Merrill has told CNET about plans to start a new privacy-protecting Internet service.
This service would provide internet with the intention of shielding customers from surveillance. With his setup, the internet provider would not have access to unencrypted user data, meaning even if an authority were to demand the provider for information that has been sent or received by a user, Nicholas Merrill's service would not be able to do so.
The pirate provider could potentially be used as a shield by people with bad intentions, but it would show people like Lamar Smith that the internet belongs to the people and should not be a door into the privat life of users.
Until then I guess people have to keep using proxy servers and Tor to keep some anonymity online.

So, I was thinking about writing about the plans of Iran to create their own state-controlled internet services and actually disconnect the country from the WorldWideWeb.
Then the MailOnline announced that the ministry said: "The report is in no way confirmed by the ministry and is completely baseless" Engadget has updated their reports from yesterday and say that the plan is to create a national information network that will be a "totally closed system".
In a blog entry by Kevin Systrom, CEO of Instagram, has announced that Instagram will be acquired by Facebook.
The application that was recently released to the Android Market and has been on the App Store since October 2010 allows users to add digital filters on images and share them. A great part of the growth of the company is thanks to social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. Kevin assured that the application would not change dramatically and stay unique.
Google [x] has released a video demonstrating their projection for the new Project Glass.
Google [x] is a secret lab working on Google's next generation projects that was revealed by the New York Times late last year.
Project Glass is their first secret concept to be made public, the engineers from Google [x] are working on glasses with an Android interface in it, creating augmented reality.
The Project was revealed through the sharing of a video titled "Project Glass: One day..." This video shows some of the features that the glasses will have. One of which is the heads-up display (HUD) that feeds information and instant messaging to the glass when the head is tilted upwards.
This video confirmed some of the rumors that emerged in recent months about Google [x] working on augmented reality glasses that display information gathered from the internet on glass lenses through the Android OS.
This Project may be tested in the coming months by Google Employes in the Public.
