Google [x] is a secret lab working on Google's next generation projects that was revealed by the New York Times late last year.
Project Glass is their first secret concept to be made public, the engineers from Google [x] are working on glasses with an Android interface in it, creating augmented reality.
The Project was revealed through the sharing of a video titled "Project Glass: One day..." This video shows some of the features that the glasses will have. One of which is the heads-up display (HUD) that feeds information and instant messaging to the glass when the head is tilted upwards.
This video confirmed some of the rumors that emerged in recent months about Google [x] working on augmented reality glasses that display information gathered from the internet on glass lenses through the Android OS.
This Project may be tested in the coming months by Google Employes in the Public.
